Unearthed Artists We Like: Distance

SHORELINE is a female fronted pop/punk band, situated on the sunny east coast of Australia, in a little town called Newcastle. And before anyone asks, no they're not just another Paramore rip-off band.

Their 5 track EP was recorded with resident, genius, producer Jayson Evans, over a few beer filled days at his home studio in Warners Bay. Together they managed to come up with something that pushes the boundaries of pop punk.

At their release show at the Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle the active crowd of fans were not disappointed as the band came out and put on a show worthy of bands with many more years experience then them. Their stage presence is epic, with the three guitarists spending more time in the air then on their feet, Ellie singing the majority of the set on the barrier and Ricky destroying the drums.

The band looks set for big things. With more Newcastle as well as interstate, and possibly tours ahead, make sure you come along and check out SHORELINE at a show soon, they won't dissapoint.

I'm not big on this style of music but I enjoyed this. That cut-up computery bit on the vocals though (you know the bit I mean), it was pretty cringe...

This is not punk, it's power pop playing dress up.
