Swedge started in late 2009, formed from local musicians to jam dirty old school punk rock music for fun. A series of setbacks through 2010 including a 3 month hiadus from the lead vocals, and the incarceration of the former lead guitarist left the band reeling.
Enter Stitcho, a new powerful guitarist pushing the band to start writing original songs and record a demo cd in late 2010. Now starting to push their way into parties and pubs throughout their local area.
2011 was a year of solid song writing for the lads, pushing the number of fully fledged originals close to double figures. This inspired a new recording session, for what is now known as the "Swedge E.P", which contains 5 songs that don't stray too far from good old rock n roll.
2012 has started with the tragic loss of their guitarist Stitch, which has forced a line-up change for the time being. To see what happens next stay tuned ...
Now back to a 4 piece band! A ripper on the bass, Lockie has already jumped on about 20 songs. He brings a sober, level-headedness for the band, which is much needed.
Further circumstances have forced the replacememnt of the original drummer Heath Addison.
New drummer Paul Moller brings with him 15 years experience of solid gigging and jamming with bands around the Gold Coast area. Already Paul has opened doors with the band, allowing a flow of creativity yet unseen in the life of Swedge.
