Girl With Cake started off as a bunch of lovely girls who loved nothing better than to sit down with a nice slice of cake and play HEAVY (and sometimes pretty friendly) DEADLY MUSIC. Their style is best described as indie-rock with a punk edge. They originate from the sunny, stinky shores of beautiful, shining Brizneyland and have been playing together for 18 months.

4 Triple z fm helped them to make a recording through the Live To Air program which they released locally in 2005 as "Pony Club". It was recorded in half an hour and recorded live. They also released The First Cut in late 2005. This release was recorded in short, live sessions.

Girl With Cake's most recent release is their new EP "Stick To Your Guns" featuring five tracks.

Timeoff magazine said this about their EP:

"..Taking no prisoners with all guns ablazing, these kick-ass lasses have combined their collective punk-rock attitudes to rip the genre a new hole."

Rave magazine had this to say about their EP:

"...Catchy indie/punk EP from all-girl Brissie band Girl With Cake, as their name suggests, do possess an element of sweetness, primarily in the form of sugary vocal harmonies and pretty violin lines; however, their overall sound is more Rocky Road than Victorian Sponge. The latest EP from this local indie/punk outfit is rather Grates-esque in flavour, but with a fuller sound, less polish and a healthy dose of aggression. Strike The Clock is easily of Grates calibre, if not better, winning points for its nonchalance. Revolution is an angst-riddled number, featuring refrains of I've had enough/I've had enough (a reference to too much cake perhaps?). It's clear these girls know what they're doing, showcasing nice guitar work on Knife and Death To Friendship, overlaid with shouty punk verses and pretty harmonised choruses. Scars is a slightly darker number combining ominous bass lines, violin, piano and some dirty guitar, providing a satisfying end to what in all is a pretty impressive release."

The Bleeding Edge has featured Girl With Cake three times in their international podcast.

Interactive entertainment producers Girl Friday have also featured the girls on their website.

The girls have built an excellent reputation locally due to their awesome live performances that are packed with energy and enthusiasm. Girl With Cake have rocked the walls of venues: The Zoo, The Alley Bar, The Rev, Rics, The Zoo, The Indie Temple, QUT Gardens Point Bar, The Orient, The Shamrock, St.Peter’s High School (Splaid
All-ages Festival), The Jubilee, The Hard Rock Cafe’ Surfers Paradise and The Chophouse. They have supported acts including Regurgitator, Mary Trembles, Operator Please and Gazoonga Attack.

Roar it loud and proud. Pretty good song, I fear that the "grate" Patience may have pipped you at the post though. But this is solid stuff.

Sounds awesome. Verse melody sounds a little bit done before (perhaps by a band you could be neighbours with...) but it gets great in the chorus. And...

Cute sounding song with the addition of one big set of balls. Nice, rhythmic, mellow Summer tunes with an influence that is clearly similar to ' The ...
