From The Ashes formed in late 2005 after Mike and Jiz, having already been playing together for several years, were contacted by vocalist Hank, an Adelaide expat who was looking for a new musical direction. After many months of searching high and low, bassist Lachie was added to the ranks and soon became an integral part of the sound and style of the band.

From The Ashes' sound is the result of a diverse set of influences including but not limited to psychedelica, pop, metal & jazz fusion. Each member contributes his own musical flavour to create a unique blend of textured, hi-fidelity, progressive rock. Lurking just below the surface of the cracking guitars, intense melodic vocals and pounding rhythm section are lush orchestral arrangements and swirling electronica which elevate the music beyond old-fashioned rock n' roll. However, despite this focus on multi-layered composition, the songs retain a melodic sensibility and emotional impact which make them accessible to a broad audience.

In a live setting, From The Ashes not only retain their textures & dynamic sense but each song also takes on a new, raw energy which is inescapable. From The Ashes are dedicated to making each live show as memorable as any of their recorded material.
