Lachlan Grant graduated from Otago University (Dunedin, New Zealand) with a Bachelor of Music in 2010. He is known as a solo performer and throughout his degree he performed regularly at venues including The Bog, Ra Bar, Refuel, Isis, and many more. After completing his Degree, Lachlan decided to relocate and reside in Australia. The first stop was living and working on Hayman Island in the Whitsunday’s where he performed regularly, displaying a large repertoire of original and crowd pleasing music. Lachlan gained residencies performing at the River Inn Resort and the Alpine Hotel (Rydges) in Thredbo Village. He has also competed in the Annual Acoustic Awards 2011, was invited to perform on the main stage after busking at this years Central Coast Country Music Festival. Lachlan was also selected to perform on the streets at the 2011 Apollo Bay Music Festival along with the ‘Busking over Byron’ competition at Bluesfest 2011. After performing at Canberra’s Floriade Festival Lachlan is busking his way from Thredbo (NSW) to Karratha (WA) performing his music on the streets of several towns along the way. Lachlan Grant has recently released his debut album ‘A Few More Days’. It features twelve tracks that reflect on his journey from studying the art of music at Otago University in New Zealand to performing frequently in Western Australia’s mighty Pilbara Region. His songs are inspired by the great search of self-discovery and they tackle the ideas of love and the hope of finding that one place one truly belongs. Lachlan will be continuing his journey and hopes to perform his music in as many places possible. With his Land Rover Discovery loaded with all necessary sound gear, Lachlan Grant is equipped to perform wherever Australia’s long desert roads can take him.
