This is a band with it's heartbeat in Australia, and it's soul in Brazil. For 13 years, Madcouch has performed the music of Brazil, and composed and recorded original songs deeply influenced by the rhythms and harmonies of Brazilian music. For in the people and culture of Brazil, they have found a true-ness of heart & sense of joy inherent in the music of that country.

Madcouch has now twice ventured to Brazil to live, study and perform, released four recordings (2 E.Ps, 2 albums), received regular airplay on a number of national & community broadcasters & taken out the Queensland Music Award for World Music Song of the Year, for their track 'Bom Fazer' (it's good to do!).

The band also now independently produces SAIDEIRA, a celebration of Brazilian music and culture which has played to five packed houses over the last 18 months in Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast..

“We left your show spell-bound! There is magic all around you guys and it is an honour to be part of your audience....Thank you again for creating such incredible music!
Yours in awe,”
Deb McMenamin @ Brisbane Jazz Club, via email 09

Beautifully arranged, infectious rhythms; it's got a hot South American energy - but it comes from Brisvegas! I can't understand a word, but I don't ...
